 Someone said: found it...go to the main menu...open profiles (the speaker looking icon) scroll to the bottom, you'll see "edit profiles", choose profile you wish to edit,choose messages or instant messages, choose Black berry messenger alerts, scroll to the top ,browse for your file choose then save and voila.

Samsung Gravity T:

1. Click the Menu Button
2. Scroll and click on Settings
3. Click on Sound Profiles
4. Select Normal and click the double red arrows button
5. On the top right of the screen, there is a drop down menu where you can select Call, Message and Phone. 
6. Click on the one you are concerned with and change the settings
7. Don't forget to save!

When click the arrow by "normal," you get three choices at the top: Call, message and phone. Click on phone and scroll down to Power on/off, select mute.

Go to “My Files” > you should see the sdcard > Press the menu button > press 𠇌reate Folder” and name it “Notifications” > place songs or files under this new folder > go to “Messaging” and press the settings > Scroll down to notification settings and select ringtone found @ http://www.all-samsnungphones.com

Push your menu botton (white one on the bottom) go to settings, go personal, then profiles, click normal, click customize. then you can see ring tone and message tone choose message then your tone!!!
