Before you peform this unlock you must remove the sim card and sd card or it will not reset! With the phone turned of, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefy press the POWER button. Wait for the screen with the 3 Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button. Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER.

How do you unlock a samsung captivate after too many pattern attempts?

you need to master reset your phone. you hold the power and the volume up key untill the andriod pops up, it should have four options. Then you scroll down the list using the `volume down` key and select (by hitting the home key) remove data to facotry. then when a small box comes up you hit the `volume up` key. at this point it should send you back to the first screem, you then hit auto rebout.

How to get rid of too many pattern attempts on g1?

There`s no way to avoid a full memory reset (which will erase all of the phone`s data, but not your SD or SIM cards). Fortunately, you can still perform a Factory Reset without losing your information: 1. While you`re on the pattern lock screen, have somebody call you. 2. As your G1 rings, press your Home key rapidly. 3. Before their call gets sent to voicemail, have them hang up. A. This is a little-known software bug in the G1 -- you will now be sent to your home screen. Sadly, this only unlocks your screen once -- next time your screen locks, you`d have to repeat this process. So from here, backup any of your information -- I recommend an app called MyBackup (I`ve also heard that "Lookout" is another good one) -- and perform a Factory Reset. Factory Reset (if you REALLY don`t know your Google password): 1. Turn off the G1 2. Hold the Home key and Power key at the same time -- until you get a screen with a triangle symbol on it. 3. Open your keyboard 4. Hold your "alt" key and press the letter "w" (or alt L and then alt w) Your phone will now start up as if it`s brand new. You can now create a new Gmail account.
