You can do an update without an active subscription by doing a "stealth" OS reload. Delete the Vendor.xml file located at c:program filescommon filesresearch in motionapploader Run Loader.exe from that directory. Pull the battery from your device, and put it back in. Plug in the BB and IMMEDIATELY click the "next" button - here`s where you want to make sure the port shows USB: UNKNOWN. If it shows the PIN, you were too slow. Try again. Basically, you`re loading an OS from the bottom up. There is no "backup/restore" available for this. You`ll lose everything on the device. But it will work.

Problems I had with the 8900 on V4.6 was bluetooth would not pair with anything and when the device booted up it only showed white screen . (no blackberry with white meter bar)after the boot it worked normal So I used this to update to V5.0 and now everything is fixed.

Air Force Reserves or Navy Active Duty are both good choices, Army AD should be removed as an option. Active Duty Air Force would be your best bet.

its not possible to surf the web browser by using the blackberry curve 8520 if you dont have the active wifi connection. you know that in many countries there is not the facility of wifi connection. but when the wifi is available then you should enter the network key which is to be provided by the service provider. get it and use it to have an active wifi connection. It means your camera is on, when you last used it, or if you are like me and just pressed the wrong button, you didn`t shut it down when you closed it. Go into the camera mode and shut it down. It should work fine after that. Otherwise, you can always leave your blackberry on and do a battery pull. Leave the battery out for about 15 secs and then put it back in. This solves about 90% of blackberry issues just like a hard boot on a computer.

Easy! Just block incoming SMS messages (crunchSMS will still receive them): go to Options > Security Options > Firewall, and tick the "SMS" box. Then save. Note that you don`t need to enable the firewall! If you find some messages are being blocked that should still go to your regular inbox, for example voicemail notifications maybe, you can make an exception for those: in the Firewall screen, there`s an option "Except messages from Specific Addresses". Tick that. Then, in the menu you get a new item called "Configure Exceptions". Add the number where you get your voicemail notifications from.

I`m with the orange dolphin plan, therefore im meant to have internet access, it`s also recognised the network that i have with my laptop but it`s still saying about "this is a wi-fi service, please ensure your device has an active wi-fi connection and try again." No idea what to do.

3G is the technology which is offered by cell phone service providers. on the blackberry or other 3G phones you cannot just say 3G on the signal bar by yourself. you can get the 3G services via different service providers. if your 3G services are active then your phone will display 3G on top.

yes blackberry sim work in normal phone as you just make call a contract with the number and not really with the actual phone. yes you can use the sim card for voice calls, as you will not be able to access any data and blackberrys require a special pin access the internet on blackberry phone
